We aren't using a lot of memory now, but it's good to have some more. VMs for example use a lot of memory. Sure, we have lots of swap space so we won't easily run out of memory, but 32GB or 48GB would be a great upgrade. React with a 👍 if this is something you want to see happen!

A related issue is how big to set our swapfile. Currently it's big enough to hibernate but I don't think hibernation is very important for this server.

I got rid of the swapfile and set up zram instead so we hopefully won't run out of memory. Also, zram should be a lot faster than swapping to disk. Hibernation doesn't work with zram but that's OK since we never use hibernation anyways.

This is currently discounted (not by too much though): https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2TFKHx/crucial-ballistix-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-bl2k8g36c16u4b?ref=ppxe

Prices are definitely going down, so I'll probably buy this soon.

Seems like we're using around 4 GB with no users logged in and around 10 GB with three users logged in and running memory intensive apps like web browsers. Definitely need to upgrade to 32 GB of RAM soon.

I tested our zram swap by running several VMs simulatenously and it seemed to work really well. So even if we do use up all of our physical RAM, our swap will still provide a lot of buffer space although it'll be slower of course.
